We have SO MUCH going on this summer at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists that it is difficult to keep track of it all! But here’s some of it as you plan for warmer, sunnier days. Just like the sand between your toes — it’s important to be reminded that we must stay ahead of the trends in pharmacy and particularly senior care, now that every day in this country — 10,000 people are turning 65 years of age. The silver tsunami is just getting started.
Get out the road map, put away the phone, take the top down on the convertible, and JOIN US this summer! We’ve got two ways: 1. through webinars (poolside) and 2. live in your region.

II. ASCP Summer Regional Meetings — LIVE:

Our first summer regional stop will be in Springfield, MA in June, 2019. For the first time, ASCP will offer BCGP re-certification credits and learning activities for registrants at this meeting. Registration and details are here.
2. Florida ASCP/AME Summer Consultant Pharmacist Conference — June 7–9, 2019 — St. Petersburg, FL
Our second summer regional is in cooperation with AME, and will be in sunny St. Pete. Topics include: Diabetes, controlled substance prescribing, a Washington DC Update for senior care and LTC pharmacists, Parkinson’s, medication errors, sleep in Alzheimer’s, anticoagulation, and the patient driven payment model. 3. ASCP Midwest Regional Meeting — July 12–14, 2019 — Indianapolis, IN — Butler University
In my personal opinion, Butler University has one of the BEST pharmacy schools on the planet (humblebrag), and we’re headed to Indianapolis and Butler’s ever-changing campus in July for a meeting full of education for the consultant pharmacist! On tap, the following topics: anticoagulants, antibiotic stewardship, vaccines, new drug update, and a talk on burnout — something plaguing pharmacy right now…let’s talk about it and provide some strategies to FIX it. 4. ASCP MidAtlantic Regional — August 2–4, 2019 — Gettysburg, PA — Our last summer stop will be at the MidAtlantic Regional. This meeting includes anticoagulants, vaccines, new drugs, clinical pearls, HIV and more. Live BCGP and CPE credits will be offered. Registration is here and agenda is forthcoming.
